F.J. Schofield hopes to keep a hot hand throughout the JU Invitational

Jacksonville, FL - The men's tennis team at Florida Atlantic University began fall play in full force at the Hastings Memorial/JU Invitational, in Jacksonville, FL. Of the five players that saw action Friday, junior F.J. Schofield faired best winning both of his matches in the "Flight A" singles bracket. Schofield advanced to the third-round as Kevin Obletz and Jeremy Perez moved on in the consolation brackets of their respected groups.
Obletz and Perez came back strong after dropping their initial match of the tournament. In "Flight A," Obletz defeated Danie Van Den Heever of Georgia Southern University, 6-4, 6-1. Perez moved on in "Flight B."
In the second-round Schofield had to came from behind to beat UCF's Joel Allen, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, to advance.
In doubles, Schofield and Obletz moved on in the "Flight A" tournament thanks to default.
Play for the Hastings Memorial/JU Invitational continues, Saturday, October 11, and concludes the 12th.
