BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University's Richard Meade, Andrei Morin-Kougoucheff, and Harrison Heysek competed in the round of sixteen at the Southern Intercollegiate Tournament held in Athens, GA over the weekend. The tournament held at the University of Georgia featured competitors from 28 schools.
Meade won his first two matches against Georgia Southern in the first round and Clemson in the second. The sophomore pushed his third match to three sets before losing.
Morin-Kouguocheff also won two matches against Kentucky and Armstrong before being defeated in his third. Heysek had a bye in the first round then won his second round match against Stetson in straight sets. He was then knocked out in the round of 16.
Will Neuner, Sean Bacha, and Robert Dubuque also played in the tournament. Neuner and Dubuque lost in the first round while Bacha won his first round match before being eliminated.
FAU's men's tennis will compete at the Bedford Cup in Tallahassee, FL on Sept. 26-29.
