Men's Tennis Takes Down BCC

Daytona Beach, FL - Florida Atlantic University stopped a three match skid Tuesday afternoon when it defeated Bethune-Cookman College 5-2. The Owls (7-11) recorded wins in both doubles matches and three of five singles matches. BCC was only able to field five players causing them to forfeit at no. 6 singles and no. 3 doubles. Senior Ernest Diaz led the way as he cruised through his singles match against Malik Hall, 6-1, 6-0, at no. 4.

F.J. Schofield was also able to get past his singles opponent in straight sets. Schofield beat Damir Krimer, 6-4, 6-2, at no. 2.

David Demers needed the extra set but his results were the same. Demers, a freshman, defeated Mark Schmipleual, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, at no. 1.

In doubles, Demers and Schofield paired up to win 8-5 at no. 1. At no. 2, Roman Kowalski combined with Juan Todero for a 8-6 victory.

FAU's next match is at 3:00 pm, April 11, at Jacksonville.
