BOCA RATON, FL - The men's tennis team at Florida Atlantic University won its sixth consecutive match Friday afternoon, defeating Georgia Southern University, 6-1, in Boca Raton, FL. Senior Cristian Paiz won his fifth match of the year, 6-4, 6-1, at no. 2, helping the Owls improve to 9-5. FAU has gone 6-1 with Paiz in the lineup.

The hottest player for FAU, though, is F.J. Schofield. Schofield won his 10th consecutive singles match, dropping Lasha Janashia, 3-6, 6-0, 6-2, at no. 3. The junior's win gave FAU a 4-0 cushion, guaranteeing victory for the Owls. Schofield is now 13-1 on the year.

Antonello Magris also extended a personal win streak, winning his fourth straight match at no. 1. Magris beat Doruk Baglan, 6-3, 6-0.

Also winning for the Owls was Mauricio Paiz and David Demers. Paiz took care of Tom Green, 6-2, 6-3, at no. 6. Demers ran by Danie Van Den Heever, 6-2, 6-0 at no. 4.

In doubles, Magris combined with C. Paiz to win 9-7 at no. 1. At no. 2, Demers paired with Schofield for an 8-3 win.

The Owls shared the six courts with the women's team. Each team occupied three courts. Doubles were played first, followed by singles in chronological order.
