Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the University at Buffalo on Friday, March 15 at Patch Reef Park. Freshman Andrei Morin-Kougoucheff clinched the match with a three-set victory.

The Owls (5-9) took the doubles point after earning an 8-1 triumph by senior Jose Fantova and sophomore Will Neuner on the first court. The tandem of sophomore Robert Dubuque and Morin-Kougoucheff secured the point with a 7-2 victory in a tiebreaker.

Sophomore Richard Meade picked up a straight-set win at No. 6 singles 7-5, 6-4 over Buffalo's Sergio Arevalillo. Dubuque also won by 7-5, 6-4 scores on the fifth singles court.

The Bulls responded with wins in the No. 1, 2 and 4 singles matches to tie match at 3-3.

That's when Morin-Kougoucheff won the deciding third set 7-5 to defeat Sebastian Ionescu, giving the Owls the victory. Morin-Kougoucheff won the opening set also by a 7-5 score.

FAU returns to the court on Monday, March 18 at 2 p.m. when it battles Green Bay at Patch Reef Park.
