Men's Tennis Sinks Navy

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University cruised by Navy, 6-1, Friday afternoon at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton, Florida. F.J. Schofield led the way as FAU dropped only one set on its way to victory. Following doubles, Schofield, a sophomore, blanked Matt Walton, 6-0, 6-0, to give the Owls a 2-0 margin early. From there, FAU never looked back as four other players earned singles victories.

Cristian Paiz was the next Owl to register a win, defeating Chris McGrath, 6-4, 6-3 at no. 3.

David Demers, Oscar Plotnik, and Ernest Diaz soon finished with wins of their own to put the match out of reach.

In doubles, FAU made a clean sweep. Demers combined with Schofield to win at no. 1. While Jeremy Perez teamed with Kevin Obletz to win at no. 2 and Paiz and Plotnik paired to win at no. 3.

FAU nets hosts Georgia Southern, March 17, at 2:00 pm.
