Men's Tennis Wins 5-2 Battle Over William & Mary

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Facing match point five times, senior Remi Chancerel won the deciding point to give the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team a 5-2 victory over William & Mary on Tuesday.

  • The Owls (11-5) won the doubles point behind the efforts of Chancerel and Gabriel Sidney's 6-4 win and Ignacio Jimenez and Anthony Schohn's 7-5 victory
  • Jason Legall won 6-4, 6-4 over Christian Cargill to double the advantage
  • Sidney's day ended quicky as he topped William & Mary's Louis Newman 6-3, 6-3 in singles, moving to 11-2 on the year
  • The Tribe bounced back with wins in four and five singles as Ignacio Garcia fell 1-6, 7-6, 6-0 and Thomas Bugeaud lost 6-4, 6-3
  • The match came down to a pair of seniors for the Owls as Chancerel fended off Alec Miller 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (7-2) and Jimenez beat Sebastian Quiros 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 to give FAU its third win of the week
