BOCA RATON, FL - Senior Cristian Paiz made his season debut Saturday morning, but his singles victory wasn't enough, as Florida Atlantic University fell, 5-2, to the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. The loss drops FAU to 3-5 on the year and 0-2 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Paiz had an easy time at no. 2, winning 6-2, 6-3 against Gabriel Strangberg.

F.J. Schofield earned the other point for the Owls at no. 4. The junior breezed by Simon Jaeger, 6-0, 6-2. Schofield has now won seven of eight singles matches on the year, including four consecutive.

FAU next plays Troy State 11:00 am February 29, in Orlando, FL.
