Men's Tennis Loses at Stetson 5-2

DeLand, FL - Senior Jose Fantova won his fourth straight singles match to highlight the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team in a 5-2 loss at Stetson University on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Owls to 2-6 on the season.

Fantova dropped only two games in defeating Didrik Berg by 6-0, 6-2 scores in the No. 1 match. The victory gave FAU a 2-1 advantage in the match after the visitors won the doubles point.

Sophomore Will Neuner teamed with Fantova to earn an 8-4 victory at the No. 1 doubles position. Then, sophomore Robert Dubuque and freshman Andrei Morin-Kougoucheff clinched the point with an 8-6 triumph in the No. 2 spot.

Kougoucheff dropped a hard-fought, three-set match at No. 3 singles, falling 6-3 in the deciding set to Stetson's Cahit Kapukiran.

The Owls return to the court on Sunday, March 3 when they host Old Dominion University at noon from Patch Reef Park.
