BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men’s tennis defeated Stetson at home 4-3, in the first of two matches during the weekend. FAU secured the match early by winning the doubles point and three out of six singles matches. The win moves the owls to 5-4 on the season.
FAU head coach Ricardo Gonzalez hopes to see this type of performance from his team in all their matches.
“This is the most complete match we have played this season in every spot while we had our chances to win in all singles positions,” said Gonzalez.
“Our guys are hungry and playing fearless tennis and as a coach it is a pleasure to see how these young men are working together”
FAU juniors Sean Bacha and Robert Dubuque started strong and defeated Chester Espie and Egor Panyushkin 6-2. FAU junior Richard Meade and Stefan Burnett defeated Laurynas Antropikas and Cahit Kapukiran 6-2, to win the doubles point.
