BOCA RATON, FL - Dropping only one match all afternoon, Florida Atlantic University blew by Bethune-Cookman College, 7-0, Saturday in Boca Raton. Junior F.J. Schofield won his third consecutive singles match, helping the Owls improve their record to 2-1. Schofield, at no. 2, beat Milosav Medricky 6-0, 6-3.

FAU began the match grabbing the doubles point, winning two out of the three matches.

In singles, the Owls really got the ball rolling. Mauricio Paiz coasted by Fernando Marcato, 6-3, 6-0, at no. 6. Shortly after, Daniel McCauley and Juan Todero grabbed victories at no. 3 and 4, respectively. Todero's win was his first singles dual match victory of the spring.

At no. 1, David Demers outlasted Martin Dimitrov, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. That win was also the first of the season for Demers.

Gianfranco Dossena preserved the shutout by dropping Malik Hall 6-1, 7-5 at no. 5.

FAU next plays Barry University at 3:00 pm, February 10 in Miami.
