BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University’s men’s tennis fell to the University of South Florida, ranked No. 70, 6-1 in Tampa on Friday. The loss moves Florida Atlantic to 2-3 on the season.

FAU was able to get any traction against USF and lost all but one singles match.  Florida Atlantic junior Will Neuner won FAU’s only match on the day, defeating Sasha Gozun 6-3,6-5(3). The Owls dropped two doubles matches to surrender the doubles point early in the match.  Florida Atlantic sophomore Andrei Morin-Kougoucheff and junior Will Neuner lost to Sasha Gozun and Robert Cid defeated 6-3, and FAU junior Robert Dubuque and junior Sean Bacha loss to Oliver Pramming and Everth Dzib 6-1.  This was Florida Atlantic’s third match against a ranked opponent as all three FAU losses have come against ranked teams.

FAU takes the court again next Friday Jan. 31, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. against St. Thomas at home at Patch Reef Park, in Boca Raton.
