Boca Raton, FL - Three event victories and 11 top-three finishes paced a balanced attack for the Florida Atlantic University men's swimming and diving team in a 138-67 dual meet loss to Clemson University on Wednesday at the FAU Aquatic Center.

One of the most dramatic victories of the meet was recorded by senior Adam Corbin, who edged Clemson's Chris Reinke by two-tenths of second to win the 200-yard freestyle in 1:43.81.

Meanwhile, junior Mikolaj Czarnecki placed first in the 100-yard butterfly (51.66), finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.44) and swam a leg in the third place 200-yard individual medley relay team.

Junior Csaba Pek rounded out the event winners with a victory in the 500-yard freestyle (4:44.90). He also had a runner-up showing in the 200-yard individual medley (1:56.14) and was a member of the 200-yard individual medley relay. Other relay team members were senior Tyler Griffith and junior Anthony Fermin.

FAU had second-, third- and fourth-place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle race with seniors Michael Shimansky, Rafael Pena and Trevor Lowe, and junior Jonathan Van Zee placed third in 500-yard freestyle (4:46.98).

The Owls will return to the pool when they host the FAU Invitational on Saturday with the Air Force Academy, University of Cincinnati, the University of Denver, FIU and Rice University. The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. at the FAU Aquatic Center, 777 Glades Road on the Boca Raton campus.
