BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic University men's soccer's Ferdinand Solberg has been named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Solberg, a native of Klepp, Norway, started 15 of FAU's 16 matches in his first collegiate season, tallying 1,264 minutes on the pitch - the second-most on the team.
Solberg took eight shots on the year and recorded an assist on Carlos Sanchis' game-winning goal at South Carolina on Sept. 9.
"Ferdinand absolutely deserves this award and recognition," FAU Head Coach Joey Worthen said. "He was one of our most consistent players all year and brings a level of experience, maturity, and competitiveness that will help this program move forward."
