Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men’s soccer team will look for its first Mid-American Conference victory at Northern Illinois University on Sunday, October 23, beginning at 1 p.m. The Owls, 5-5-2 for the season, are coming off a 1-1 draw to Western Michigan University after suffering two losses to begin conference play.
Individually, junior goalkeeper Jeremy Crumpton leads the conference with 5.42 saves per match and is second in the league with 65 saves. Senior forward Darnell King ranks among the league leaders in goals (5) and assists (3), and sophomore forward Lukas Simons has scored two goals. Senior midfielder Karol Chorak is also important to the team’s offense, having three assists this season.
Northern Illinois brings an 8-4 overall record and 0-2 league mark into matches against Western Michigan, which takes place today, and FAU on Sunday. Gael Rivera leads the Huskies with three goals and seven points, while Paul Hogan has also scored three times. Karim Darbaki has added two goals and two assists.
