The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team held its awards banquet over the weekend. The banquet was a celebration of the Owls' first season in the Atlantic Soccer Conference. The team recorded a 3-2-1 record in its new league and advanced all the way to the final game of the ASC Tournament.

Senior defender/midfielder Ryan Kinsley was named team MVP. Kinsley, who transferred to FAU after a year at the University of South Florida, helped the Owls tie the school record for shutouts in a season with six. Kinsley also was given the leadership award for the motivation and inspiration he brought to the team.

Freshman Trey McEntee was named Rookie of the Year. McEntee, who played primarily along the back line, appeared in 13 of the Owls' 17 matches and had 10 starts.

Shire Standnes, a sophomore from Oslo, Norway was recognized as the team's leading goal scorer. Standnes scored six goals on the season, including two game-winners and was named to the Atlantic Soccer Conference All-Tournament Team.
