Late Goals Lead to Men's Soccer's 2-0 Loss Versus NJIT

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Two late goals lifted NJIT to a 2-0 win over the FAU Men’s Soccer team Sunday afternoon at the FAU Soccer Stadium in a non-conference matchup despite a final flurry of shots from the Owls.

Quick Hits
• The Owls out-shot NJIT 14-10, including 11 in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net in traffic.
• Goalkeeper Daniel Ragoo made five saves, all in the second half to keep the game scoreless before NJIT struck in the 72nd minute on a Mamadou Guirassy goal assisted by Carlos Garcia.
• FAU fired off a barrage of eight shots while Ragoo made three more saves down the stretch, but the score remained 1-0 until Guirassy netted his second with just five seconds remaining to extend the advantage.
Landon Lupo led FAU with three shots whiel Mehdi Rachidi and Daniel Del Rio each took two. Rafael Arcila and Aaron Laranetto each placed shots on goal while Del Rio recorded two.
