BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University golfer Caleb Sibley has qualified for the 68th Florida Open Championship to be held in Naples starting on Friday, July 18. The rising sophomore will tee off at 8:18 in his first round on the Cypress Course at the Bonita Bay Club Naples.

Sibley, a native of Kissimmee, played in 24 rounds in his first season as an Owl, carding an average of 76.46 per round. He earned medalist on Feb. 25 at the Plantation Preserve Golf Course, turning in an FAU year-best round of 66 on the par 72 course. Sibley was also named medalist at the Don Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville on March 11, carding rounds of 71 and 70 for a 1-under score of 141 to lead the field of 13 teams.

He qualified for the field of 156 players at the Florida Open Championship with a round of 72 at the Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando. The Championship is slated to conclude on Sunday, July 20 with the top 60 golfers playing a final round at the Cypress Course.
