McCauley, McHugh Set to Compete in Florida Amateur Golf Tournament

Boca Raton, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University men's golf team members Carl McCauley and Kelly McHugh are planning to participate in the Florida Amateur Tournament on June 24-27 at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge and the Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando.

McCauley tallied a scoring average of 74 strokes per round during his sophomore year in 2009-10, with a career-best score of 68 on three separate occasions. The Parkland, Fla. native captured medalist honors in the Owls' dual victory over Rutgers University, tied for eighth place in FAU's prestigious Spring Break Championship and placed second during the Bash at the Beach Invitational in Daytona.

McHugh recorded a 74.5 scoring average over 23 rounds during his junior season. The Lakeland, Fla. native tallied a season-best score of 67 to place seventh in the Stetson Tournament during the fall schedule.

Bay Hill features a challenging 7,361-yard, par-72 layout while the Orange Tree Golf Club is a 7,036-yard, par-72 course.
