MISSOURI CITY, TEXAS - Round two finished up Monday evening at the HBU Men's Intercollegiate, and while the FAU men's golf team is still tied for second, Clinton Wilhelm now has sole possession of first place.
Wilhelm shot consecutive 69's to take a two-shot lead into the final round, over a pair of opposing golfers. His teammate Derron Peyton, who shared the first round lead with Wilhelm, is now tied for sixth at 143 (69-74).
Richard Donegan is tied for 27th (75-76--151), and Airik Medinis made up nine strokes from round one to round two, shooting a 1-over-par 72 on the second 18 holes to total 153. He's tied for 37th. Frank Berzanskis is at 166, tied for 53rd.
As it was after the first 18 holes, hosts Houston Baptist are in the lead, now at 570. FAU is still tied with Sam Houston State, at 581.
The third and final round begins Tuesday morning on the Quail Valley El Dorado Golf Course.
