The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team moved up one place on the final day of play at the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate to claim third in the 18-team field. Torstein Naevestad led the Owls with a 13th place finish after moving up six spots on Tuesday with a three-over par performance.
Naevestad (74-72-75) guided the Owls along the 7,033 yard, par 72 course as he shot a 221 for the week. Following closely behind were Ben Gardner (70-76-76) and Joel Gibbons (75-71-77) in 19th and 25th places, respectively.
FAU finished 10 strokes behind first place East Carolina, the host of the tournament and eight behind Elon.
The team returns north on November 3-4 when they play in the Charleston Southern Fall Invitational.
