Men's Golf Finishes Strong at Pirate Intercollegiate

Greenville, N.C. - Florida Atlantic University's men's golf team fired a final round 286, moving up three spots, to finish 10th out of 17 teams at the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate at Bradford Creek Golf Course. Freshman Marco Morales shot six-under par in the final round to finish tied for 28th individually.

Morales (Miami, FL) improved 11-strokes from the second round to shoot a third-round 66 on the 7,101-yard par 72 course. Michael Berger shot one-under par while Tommy Suri finished even par for the day. Torstein Naevestad and Joong Jo both shot final round 77s, respectively.

FAU improved 14-strokes from the second round to shoot the second lowest total of the tournament. The Owls finished with a three round 891, 26-strokes behind winner Charleston Southern (865). Host East Carolina (873) tied for second with Elon while Gardner-Webb (877) and Longwood (880) finished fourth and fifth. The Owls finished ahead of Atlantic Sun member Stetson (906), who finished 13th overall.

FAU returns to action Monday, November 1 at the Charleston Southern Fall Invitational in Charleston, S.C.
