Howie-in-the-Hills, FL - Florida Atlantic University's men's golf team finished in ninth place out of 17 teams at the Mission Inn Collegiate Classic in Howie-in-the-Hills, FL. FAU entered the final day in fourth place but slipped after turning in a 311 on Sunday. The Owls finished with a three-round total of 899. Old Dominion won with a score of 869.
Freshman Torstein Nevestad turned in a solid performance tying for seventh individually out of 85 competitors. Nevestad shot a two-over 73 on the last day and a four-over 217 for the tournament.
Anibal Ochoa was the only other Owl to finish in the top half. Ochoa shot a 226 for the tournament, good enough for 40th place.
The team's next tournament is October 20, in Greenville NC, at the ECU Pirate Fall Intercollegiate.
