Torstein Naevestad - nine shots behind leaders

Howey-in-the-Hills, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team remained in eighth place overall after Saturday's second round of the Mission Inn Collegiate Classic hosted by Winthrop. Sophomore Torstein Naevestad slipped six spots to 12th after shooting a three-over 74 on the 6,814-yard El Campeon-Mission Inn course.

Freshman Joong Jo carded his second 75 in as many days to remain tied for 32nd spot while Tommy Suri (74) and Marco Morales (75) both moved up in the rankings. Rounding out the Owls scores is senior Cris Andersen who shot an 82, three shots better than his Friday effort.

The Owls are 23 shots behind hosts Winthrop but are ahead of fellow Atlantic Sun Conference members Gardner-Webb, Lipscomb and Stetson. The tournament concludes on Sunday.
