GLENCOE, IL - The Owls completed rounds two and three on Monday at the Windon Memorial Classic, and Richard Donegan was the low man in his first collegiate tournament.
After a 79 in the first round, the freshman shot a 1-over-par 72 and ended play with a 74. His three-round total of 225 put him in a tie for 23rd place.
Clinton Wilhelm was second on the squad with a 238. He shot a 76 in round two and a final round 82.
Freshman Derron Peyton improved with each round. After his opening 84, he went back-to-back with 80 and 79 for a total of 243. Lawrence Hoch totaled a 256 (85-82-89), and Bradford Kidd a 259 (89-85-85).
The Owls finished 15th with a team score of 958. Ohio State won the tournament by one stroke over host Northwestern, 881-882. John Callahan from Northwestern was the low individual, shooting a 1-under-par 212.
The men are right back at it again this weekend, at the Cobra-PUMA Invitational hosted by Xavier University. The Sunday-Monday tournament will be held at the Miromar Lakes Country Club in Fort Myers.
