MCKINNEY, TX – The Florida Atlantic University men’s golf team completed their first day of the Jim West Intercollegiate on Monday, April 7 at the TPC Craig Ranch. The tournament, hosted by Texas State, marks the end of FAU’s regular season before heading to the Conference USA championship.

Derron Peyton held onto the Owls’ top finish for the first two rounds. He carded 72 in the first round to tie for 29th then improved to tie for 28th with a second round of 72. Connor O’Rourke shot 73 in the first round to tie for 37th. The freshman shot par-72 in the second round to tie for 34th. Freshman Caleb Sibley tied for 78th with teammate Blake Lyle, both carding rounds of 78 and 77. To round out FAU’s team, Airik Medinis finished 80th shooting 83 and 75 in the first and second round, respectively.

FAU carded team totals of 300 and 296 for 596 strokes going into the third round. The final round will take place on Tuesday, April 8.
