Franklin, TN - Florida Atlantic University's men's golf team shot a team low round of 300 in the final round of the Belmont Invitational at the Legends Club on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls finished 19th overall and fifth among Atlantic Sun schools.
Michael Cleary led the Owls with a three-day score of 227, his lowest three-round total this season. Torstein Nevestad shot a final round 78 en route to a three-day score of 229. Ben Gardner improved ten strokes and Cris Andersen improved eight to finished strong on the final day, shooting two-over par 73s while Anibal Ochoa shot an 81, respectively.
The Owls improved nine-strokes from the previous day but still finished 72-strokes back from the winner, Tennessee State University (851). Wofford College (859), Oral Roberts University (868), Tennessee-Chattanooga (868) and host Belmont (874) rounded out the top-five.
FAU concludes its season at the Atlantic Sun Championship starting Monday, April 19, in Buies Creek, NC
