Men's Golf Finishes Day One at the RedWolves Invitational

Florida Atlantic University's men's golf team jumped two spots on the opening day tied for eighth to sixth overall following the second round of play at the Arkansas State University RedWolves Invitational.

The tournament, featuring 15 teams, was held at Ridge Pointe Country Club, a par 71 course. With the Owls in sixth place overall after 36 holes, they have a team total of 579 (+11).

Individually, Michael Perez led the Owls after the first day. The senior is tied for 10th after carding a 74 (+3) in round one with one birdie coming on par-five sixth hole. In the second round Perez tied his season round low at four-under 67 shooting five birdies in the round. Caleb Sibley finished 36-holes tied for 20th place after shooting a two-over 73 in the first round and an even par 71 in the second round. The junior carded five birdies on the first day, three in the first and two in the second.

Tied with Sibley was Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla who shot a two round total 144 (+2). Parrilla shot a three-over 74 in round one and bounced back in the second round shooting a one-under 70. Freshman Jackson Shoenfelt and Yuki Fujii rounded out the group for FAU on day one. Shoenfelt shot a two round total of 150 with four birdies on the day, tying for 46th place. Fujii finished the day tied for 66th overall after carding a 74 in round one and an 82 in round two.
