Men's Golf Begins Play in Belmont Invitational

Franklin, TN - Florida Atlantic University's men's golf team began play in the Belmont Invitational at the Legends Club on Monday afternoon, finishing 19th after the first two rounds. The Owls are fifth among Atlantic Sun Conference schools on the 6,657-yard, par 72 course.

Torstein Nevestad and Michael Cleary shot identical rounds of 76 and 75 to finish tied for 53rd. Ben Gardner goes into the final round with a two-day score of 160 while Anibal Ochoa and Cris Andersen took scores of 165 and 166 into the clubhouse.

Florida Atlantic fired rounds of 314 and 309. Wofford College (566) leads while Tennessee State University (571), Tennessee-Chattanooga (578), host Belmont (578) and Oral Roberts University (579) round out the top five.

FAU concludes play in the Belmont Invitational Tuesday, April 6.
