Citrus Springs, FL - Florida Atlantic University's men's golf team is tied for 14th at the El Diablo Intercollegiate hosted by Marshall University while Torstein Nevesatd is tied for second individually after two rounds. This marks the second consecutive tournament that Nevestad has finished in the top-two after two-rounds.
Nevestad fired an opening round 75 before shooting a two-under par 70 on the 7,045-yard, par 72 course. Freshman Tommy Suri is tied for 30th after posting a two-day score of 153, while fellow freshman Ben Gardner shot consecutive rounds of 81. Anibal Ochoa and Michael Himebaugh finished with scores of 165 and 171, respectively.
Florida Atlantic opened the tournament with a 318 before improving 11-strokes in the second-round. The Owls trail the leader, Eastern Kentucky, by 33-strokes. South Florida (601), Wichita State (601), Rollins College (606) and West Florida (608) round out the top five. FAU leads fellow Atlantic Sun Conference member Gardner-Webb by 13-strokes.
The Owls will conclude play on Sunday, March 21.
