Ocala, FL -The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team shot a 633 (318/315) in the first two rounds of the El Diablo Intercollegiate Saturday, finishing the first day of the competition 15th out of 19 teams. The Owls will enter the second day of the event with a solid opportunity to move up the chart as they are currently only three shots behind the 14th place team and 17 shots out of the top-ten.

Sophomore Ben Gardner led the way for FAU with his second-round 72, the lowest round of his spring. The 72 propelled Gardner to the top day of any FAU golfer, as he finished the day in a 34th-place tie.

The rest of the team put up very similar scores, with freshmen Joong Jo (first-round 78) and Marco Morales (first-round 77) the only other Owls able to break 80 on the day.

The final round of the tournament will be played on Sunday.
