Caleb Sibley carded his lowest collegiate round of 66 strokes

PLANTATION, Fla- The Florida Atlantic University men’s golf team competed in a dual match against the University of Hartford on Tuesday at the par-72 Plantation Reserve Golf Course. The Owls topped the Hawks 284- 291 with Caleb Sibley carding his lowest collegiate round of 66 strokes.

Connor O’Rourke and Derron Peyton each recorded 71 strokes in the one-round match. Peyton’s score tied with his lowest round of the season which he recorded at the Cobra PUMA Invitational on Oct. 29, 2013. Blake Lyle shot 76 while team captain Alex Gates shot 77. To round out FAU’s team was Airik Medinis carding a round of 79.

The Owls had two individuals competing in the match, Dan Cavanagh and Peyton Olsen. Olsen recorded 75 strokes and Cavanagh recorded 81.

FAU will compete next in the two-day Harmony Preserve Intercollegiate starting on Monday, March 3 at the Harmony Golf Preserve.
