BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's golf team opened up their spring season on Sunday with a 16-stroke victory over Army at the Polo Club of Boca Raton.
Of the scores that counted towards the team total, junior Clinton Wilhelm's 73 led FAU and was the lowest individual score of the match. The 73 was good enough for 1-over-par on the Equestrian Course at the Polo Club.
The other five members of the FAU roster competed as individuals, led by a 2-over-par score of 74 by Stephen McPoyle, the second lowest score of the day. In his first competition, freshman Bradford Kidd shot a 76 to place third, followed closely by Frank Berzanskis with a 77. Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla finished with an 80, and Morgan Hill with a 90.
As a team, Army had a total score of 321, led by Will Park's 5-over-par 77.
The FAU squad will next hit the links against Bethune-Cookman on February 28 and 29, at the Legends Country Club in Daytona Beach.
