Dec. 27, 2013

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's newly hired Head Football Coach Charlie Partridge has announced Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Brian Wright and Assistant Head Coach/Running Backs Coach Roger Harriott as the first two members of his coaching staff.

Partridge will retain Wright, who served as FAU's offensive coordinator since 2011 and was elevated to interim head coach the last four games of the 2013 season. Wright will hold the title of Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator and will focus his day-to-day attention on the quarterbacks. Wright will return rising junior quarterback Jaquez Johnson, who ended his sophomore campaign ranked in the nation's top-10 among quarterbacks in rushing yards.

"I am excited that Brian (Wright) is going to help lead our team into the 2014 season," said Partridge. "His knowledge and passion for the players at FAU are going to be a huge asset as we move forward as a program in Conference USA."

Assisting with the Owls' run game will be Assistant Head Coach Roger Harriott. FAU will return three backs who saw significant time in 2012, including rising senior Tony Moore and sophomore Jay Warren. Harriott will come to FAU from nearby University School, where he joined the program in 2007 as head coach. Harriott elevated the team's national rank from 12,172 and state rank of 430 at the conclusion of 2006 to 278 nationally and to No. 2 in the state at the conclusion of 2013.

"I am thrilled to bring Roger on board with the Owls," added Partridge. "He has been an extremely successful football coach and leader of student-athletes. He will bring leadership principles that will impact our program and his Florida roots demonstrates our commitment to the area."

Partridge is confident the staff will be completed soon to begin the daunting task of preparing for the 2014 season.
