Nov. 16, 2016

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic will play host to its last home game of the 2016 season on Saturday at 6 p.m. The game provides an opportunity to bid farewell to the Owl seniors who have endured through: conference affiliation changes, coaching changes and the matriculation of college. Through it all, this group of young men have represented FAU with character.

This weekend, the seniors will lead the 3-7 Owls versus Conference USA’s Old Dominion. FAU is coming off a 35-31 victory over UTEP and is riding into the game with a two-game winning streak.

Quarterback Jason Driskel was 20-for-25 for 233 yards and a score against UTEP. The redshirt sophomore added another 79 yards in the Owls’ ground attack. FAU set a new all-time single-season program high during the game with 22 rushing TDs behind the efforts of freshman Devin Singletary, who had 145 yards on 20 carries. Captains Azeez Al-Shaair and Trey Hendrickson led the FAU’s defensive efforts. Al-Shaair, a sophomore linebacker, had 11 tackles while senior defensive end Hendrickson had five tackles, including 2.5 tackles for a loss of 15 yards. Hendrickson will be one of 16 players to be honored in this week’s pregame Senior Day activities.
