BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's athletics department will serve as host for the final Shula Bowl Trophy Game between Sun Belt Conference rivals Florida Atlantic and FIU before FIU moves to Conference USA in 2013. The game kicks off on Friday, November 16 at 8 p.m. at the FAU Stadium and will also air on ESPNU.
Members of the military, both past and present, with a valid military ID and a game ticket are invited to eat for free from 5:30 to7:30 p.m. at the FAU athletics department's pregame tailgate tent, "Heroes Café," located on the west side of the stadium near Gate 1. Military members will be honored during the game and attendees will also enjoy a special halftime fireworks show.
FAU students will show their game day spirit early beginning Thursday night by camping outside of the stadium with a special visit from head football coach Carl Pelini. Then on Friday, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. , the WMEN 640 AM radio station will broadcast live from outside of the FAU Stadium as they host their regular programing in addition to featuring FAU and FAU athletics. ESPN 760 AM will also provide expanded game-day coverage and will have the call of the game beginning at 7 p.m.
The winner of the Shula Bowl will be awarded the traveling Don Shula Trophy. FAU is 9-1 all-time against FIU with the lone loss coming in 2011. Tickets start at $13 and are available by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS or click here.
