Takia Brooks scored 13 points and did not miss a shot to earn Student-Athlete of the Week honors

Boca Raton, FL - Strong weekend performances by juniors Mitch Anderson and Takia Brooks on the gridiron and basketball court have been cited as the Florida Atlantic University Athletic Department's Student-Athletes of the Week.
Anderson matched a school record with a 53-yard field goal in FAU's game at Navy on Saturday, November 3. The kick tied Mark Myers previous mark from a 2003 playoff game at Northern Arizona University. The redshirt junior from Orange City, FL also made two extra points in the contest.
Meanwhile, Brooks did not miss a shot and matched a team-high 13 points in the Owls' 100-61 exhibition victory over Palm Beach Atlantic University on Saturday. The guard from Miami made five field goals, including three 3-point field goals, three assists and two steals in the tune up to the 2012-13 season.
The football team will be featured on the Sun Belt Television Network and CSS cable channel throughout Florida when it plays at Western Kentucky University on Saturday, November 10, at 1 p.m. Live audio of the game can be heard at ESPN 760 AM or here.
