BOCA RATON, Fla. -
Florida Atlantic University football took to the practice field for the second time this week on Tuesday morning, all in preparation to host Middle Tennessee this weekend at 7 p.m. at FAU Stadium and Howard Schnellenberger Field.
Tuesday Comments from Head Coach Lane Kiffin
Practice two of the week, we were a little bit sloppy, but I think that had to do with these guys (Middle Tennessee) give you a lot of problems, especially defensively. We have kinda played some simpler defenses in the first games, again it doesn’t matter. You are not better because you are complicated. There are people who do very few things and do them very well and people who do a lot of things. We have played some teams that haven’t been extremely multiple, so these guys present a big challenge and you can see what they have done. They go up to Syracuse, I think they sacked Syracuse six times and held them to about 300 yards and that is on 90-some plays. They are obviously completely different. New defensive coordinator. He has done a great job. They are playing really hard and they are very, very aggressive at what they do. You can see it. Especially in that Syracuse game…we have our hands full. Regardless of who the quarterback is, they give you problems on offense. They are really well-coached and have been well-coached for years over there. We are going to have a tough week.
