FAU Athletics Introduces The Hootigans

Florida Atlantic University's athletic department introduces The Hootigans. Students representing various organizations on the Boca Raton campus, in collaboration with the FAU athletics department, have created The Hootigans, the official student fan group of Florida Atlantic athletics. There is no better time to be an Owl! .

The Hootigans are FAU students who support the Owls by attending FAU athletic events and sitting in the student section. At FAU Stadium, the student section is located in the south end zone. Hootigans will be treated to promotional giveaways throughout the year and will be given opportunities to win big prizes. .

The first official gathering of the Hootigans will be Saturday, Sept. 21 when the Owls host Middle Tennessee in the 2013 football home-opener. It's also Florida Atlantic Pride Day and kickoff is noon. .

During the 2013 football season, the first 1,000 FAU students through Gate 3 at FAU Stadium will receive a Hootigans promotional item. In addition, FAU students who attend the game will be automatically entered into a third quarter drawing for the Hootigan of the Game. Once the Hootigan of the Game is announced, the winning student will have five minutes to claim their prize. .

When the Owls host FIU on Friday, Nov. 29 a grand prize valued at $1,000 will be given to the Hootigan of the Season through a second half drawing. To be eligible for the grand prize drawing, FAU students must attend all five 2013 home football games. The winner must be present to win. .

Students are encouraged to enter the stadium early on game days. The promotional giveaway for Saturday's game is a Hootigans t-shirt and the Hootigan of the Game will receive an iPad Mini.
