Tekavec and Joseph Named Players of the Week
Kristi Tekavec and Greg Joseph named FAU Players of the Week.

BOCA RATON, Fla. -  Florida Atlantic University named Kristi Tekavec (volleyball) and Greg Joseph (football) student-athletes of the week, for the week of Sept. 4.  

Tekavec tallied 52 kills in the Owls’ three matches at the FGCU Homewood Suites Classic over the weekend. She had 14 kills and 10 digs against UCF in the first match of the weekend. In the Owls’ second match of the weekend, Tekavec had 18 kills and 11 digs versus Miami. Kristi closed out the weekend with 20 kills and 10 digs in a four-set sweep of the host Eagles. For the weekend, she averaged four kills and 2.38 digs per set, and was named to the all-tournament team.

Joseph booted a 24-yard field goal versus Navy. With the field goal, he tied the program’s most career field goals with 43. He then broke the record with a program-long 54-yard field goal to break the record previously held by Mike Myers. He also tied the program’s career PAT record Saturday with 102 PATs. He is tied there with Myers, an Owl from 2001-04. Last but not least, Joseph also became FAU’s total points scored leader at 234 and counting.
