Football Held a Cerebral Practice
Aug. 30, 2010
BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team held a late practice and hit the field in shorts and t-shirts. The Owls' normal work week runs from Tuesday through Sunday with a heavier load of classes on Monday. With the team playing on Thursday this week, Monday presented an issue with class schedule. The FAU players reported after class, 7 p.m., and found shirt, shorts and cleats in their locker for what FAU Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger called a cerebral practice. "We thought it would be good to dedicate the practice to the cerebral side," said Schnellenberger. "It has been a long camp and one that our legs have gotten weary. We are not going up there (UAB) with weary legs. So, we spent about an hour and 45 minutes with `chalk talk.' We got a lot out of it." FAU football will return to the Tom Oxley practice fields, 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. All practices are free and open to the public. Season tickets as well as single-game tickets are on sale and can be purchased on line or by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
