BOCA RATON, FL - Former Florida Atlantic University defensive lineman Dino Cox has signed with the Danville Dragons, an expansion team in the Ultimate Indoor Football League.
"We are proud to have Dino coming to training camp for the 2012 season," said Jarrod Rogol, Danville Dragons's head coach. "Dino is a talented and intelligent player that we expect to come into camp and make an immediate impact."
Cox was a four year letterman for the Owls and began playing as a true freshman. The Tampa, FL native played in 12 games as a senior, starting 11. He recorded 29 tackles including five for a loss of yards. He played in 45 collegiate games, recorded 66 tackles, 13.5 for a loss of 47 yards. Cox was a member of two bowl teams as FAU was the youngest FBS member to earn a bowl invitation in 2007 and the Owls came away with a victory. FAU repeated the feat in 2008 becoming the first team in the Sun Belt Conference to record back-to-back bowl victories and the only team in the state of Florida to have back-to-back bowl wins in 2007-2008.
The Dragons will begin play in March of 2012 at the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville, IL. For more information on Dragons Football please visit http://www.danvilledragons.com.
