Owlsley is schedule to appear at the 2010 Fanfest

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team lost the pads and turned in a full practice, the final practice prior to the 2010 Fanfest.

Friday's practice began with special team work, included individual, unit, and blitz before they began seven-on-seven and team.

The Owls began team where true freshman Tony Moore broke through for a big run. Redshirt sophomore quarterback David Kooi hit DeAndre Richardson, a redshirt freshman fighting for a starting job, across the middle. Jamere Johnson, who has had a strong camp, tempered the momentum with a sack.

Kooi gave way to senior Jeff Van Camp who hit Xavier Stinson. Graham Wilbert also had a strong afternoon working in passes to tight end Alex Fick and Chris Jackson, both for big gains.

FAU then moved into overtime work. Just a few plays in Van Camp tucked the ball and carried it in for a score. His next drive saw senior corner Tarvoris Hill bat down a would be score to David Muniz.

Kooi return to the huddle and hit Richardson and then Fick for a first and two. Willie Floyd polished off the drive with a score.

FAU football will be back on the Tom Oxley Practice Field 2 p.m. Saturday for the 2010 Fanfest. Gates open at 2 p.m. Parking and admission are free.

The Owls will kick-off the 2010 season Thursday, September 2 at UAB. Season tickets as well as single-game tickets are on sale and can be purchased on line or by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS.

 

 

Worthy of Note:
USF has announced FAU's game versus the Bulls in Tampa will be televised in high definition on Bright House Sports Network (Bright House Subscribers channel 47). Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.

FAU's equipment staff has added a sale to Fanfest, offering football jerseys, sneakers, soccer cleats and athletic bags, etc. Fanfest is schedule for 2 p.m., Saturday, August 21 and will provide an opportunity to see the Owls second scrimmage of the 2010 preseason. The event is free and open to the public. The day will also provide the perfect opportunity to receive autographs from FAU football players, coaches, dance team and cheerleading squad members. There will be Pepsi samplings and live music as well as the FAU marching band.
