Boca Raton, FL - Friday marked the last three-a-day practice schedule for Florida Atlantic University football. In the afternoon session, the squad had one last tune up before Saturday's scrimmage.

Special teams were the early highlight of practice, as kickers worked on field goals. Warley Leroy booted several balls through the up-rights from as far as the thirty-yard line.

In the 11-on-11 drills, tight end Ed Wertepny made a leaping grab. Defensive back Rickey Bethel played strong breaking up a pass.

The running game played an integral part of practice. Half-back Charles Pierre ran a give through the right side for a 20-yard pickup. Willie Floyd also got in the action gaining big yardage on a hand-off play.

Practice ended with some fun plays. It included hail marys and lateral passes after time had expired on the clock.

Tommorrow's full-pad scrimmage will begin at 2:30 p.m. following Fanfest.

Saturday, August 19, Fanfest is scheduled to begin at noon with an autograph session, a kids zone and a 2:30 p.m. scrimmage. All Fanfest events are free and open to the public.
