BOCA RATON, Fla. -
Florida Atlantic University’s football team worked through practice No. 12 of a scheduled 19 prior to the start of class. It followed yesterday’s two-a-day and precedes Wednesday’s two-a-day, but the effort level remained high.
As the Owls left the practice field, Conference USA made a partnership announcement with Campus Insiders which has selected the Old Dominion game at Florida Atlantic scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 to be streamed throughout their platforms. All Conference USA programming is available throughout the Campus Insiders Network, which includes www.campusinsiders.com, mobile apps and connected TV apps (including AppleTV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Xbox) as well as strategic partners including Twitter, Sling TV, and Verizon’s go90 platforms.
Offensive Coordinator Travis Trickett on the Offensive Line and their Experience
- “Experience is one thing you can’t buy. You can do your best to simulate it, but it is one thing that we can’t manufacture. They either have it or don’t have experience. There is comfort, I think, within those kids. We have faith with all of our kids. The good thing about it is there is a lot of competition. No one is really comfortable, everybody has a healthy fear for their job. It is keeping the drive. All those kids are staying out and doing stuff on their own. We left the field the other day and most position groups stayed out on their own to try and get better. When your kids are starting to do that you have something. We are excited about that.”
- Redshirt sophomore Jake Stoshak had a pass breakup to begin the team drills to prevent a 20-yard gain.
- Redshirt sophomore Bobby Mitchell had a shoestring catch at the goal line, and one play later, redshirt junior Kalib Woods hauled in a touchdown pass from redshirt freshman Daniel Parr.
- “Motor” Devin Singletary, a true freshman running back, ran around the left edge for a big gain and fellow newcomer James Charles carried it within two yards of the goal line, but the defense made a stand the following two plays including one for a loss. The ball was then given to redshirt junior Marcus Clark who finished the drive.
The Owls are scheduled for two practices on Wednesday. There will be approximately 20 minutes of media availability to conclude Wednesday’s second practice. Head Coach Charlie Partridge will be made available following the second practice. The first is closed to media. Please RSVP with Katrina McCormack so that clearance time will be provided.
