Thursday Practice in the Books for FAU Football

Aug. 9, 2012

The FAU football team were right back at it again for Thursday morning practice, showing crisp execution after their first two-a-day on Wednesday.

Graham Wilbert and Stephen Curtis again split quarterback reps. Each provided long keepers, while running backs Martese Jackson and Tony Moore had worthwhile gains, the latter on a nice stepback move. Melvin German III hooked up with Travis Jones out of the backfield on a long catch and run. Defensively, freshman Cre’von LeBlanc stopped a screen pass in the backfield, and fellow first-year player Timothy Haynes had a deflection on a deep pass late in the session.

The team also worked extensively on punt coverage, both at the line at and the point of the return. Splitting punt duties on Thursday were two freshmen, Joey Silvani and Dalton Schomp.

Friday marks another two-a-day for the Owls, with 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. starts. Saturday is a scheduled off day. Season and single game tickets are on sale and can be purchased through Ticketmaster or by calling 1-866-FAU-Owls. FAU will open the 2012 campaign, Friday, August 31 in its new on-campus stadium versus Wagner College. Practices are closed to the general public and media.
