Orlando, FL - FAU's Inaugural Football Game To Air LIVE on Sunshine Network Saturday, September 1, 4 p.m. (ET) - Statewide

Weekly Coaches Show, a Live Season Preview Special, Plus a Weekly FAU Football Review Show Also Scheduled to Air

Tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. on "Sunshine Network LIVE!," Florida Atlantic University Head Football Coach Howard Schnellenberger will appear live in-studio to announce a new agreement between FAU and Sunshine Network, Florida's largest regional sports television network.

The agreement provides FAU with unparalleled statewide television exposure, as well as joint marketing and promotional opportunities, as they prepare for their inaugural season in college football's Division I-AA.

Under the agreement, Sunshine Network will produce and air live coverage, to 5.5 million cable homes in Florida, of the Owls' historic inaugural football game vs. Slippery Rock from Pro Player Stadium in North Miami on Saturday, September 1, at 4 p.m. (ET). Andrew Monaco (play-by-play), Jimmy Cefalo (analyst) and Rickey Thein (sideline) will call the action.

Also included are two weekly television programs provided by the University - a football coaches show and an FAU football review show. "The Howard Schnellenberger Show" will air Wednesdays at 11 p.m. "FAU Fighting Owl Football Revisited" will feature highlights from the most recent game and will air Wednesdays at 11:30 p.m. following the coaches show.

In addition, Sunshine Network will produce a special FAU season preview edition of its popular "Sunshine Network LIVE!" program previewing the Owls' inaugural football season. It will air live on Thursday, August 16, at 6:30 pm and repeat several times.

"These telecasts will go along way in documenting our game versus Slippery Rock and our inaugural season for posterity."

In addition to event coverage, Sunshine Network be a marketing partner with FAU, providing exposure for the University beyond the remote control, with website and other promotional ventures.

Sunshine Network will also continue to cover FAU athletics on its two sports news and features shows, "Sunshine Network LIVE!," weeknights at 6:30 pm and "NEXTEL Florida Sports News," weeknights at 10 pm. Natalie Angel and Rickey Thein currently cover South Florida sports for the two programs from the network's Miami bureau.
