BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University placed three seniors on Phil Steele's 2009 Preseason All-SBC Team. The magazine is scheduled to be on newsstands by June 9th.

Rusty Smith, Cortez Gent and Jason Harmon earned first team honors while Chris Bonner and David Matlock were listed on second team. Third team offense saw Alfred Morris listed as a running back, Jamari Grant at tight end and Tavious Polo for punt return.

Defensively, Tarvoris Hill was named second team at cornerback while Josh Savidge and Tavious Polo were named third team as a defensive lineman and cornerback, respectively.

The magazine's national edition list Smith no. 11 among quarterbacks and Cortez Gent no. 33 among wide receivers. Senior William Rose was listed at no. 18 among fullbacks and Tavious Polo was no. 21 for corners.

As a team, the Owls quarterbacks were ranked no. 17 while the receivers were ranked no. 20.

FAU, which Steele picked to finish no. 2 in the Sun Belt, will kick off the 2009 season September 5 at Nebraska.
