BOCA RATON, FL - Congratulations to former Florida Atlantic University linebacker David Hinds, who has signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins.

Hinds signed as an undrafted free agent after he was offered the mini season contract after his performance in this weekend's tryouts.

The Miami native concluded his four-year FAU career with 238 total tackles. He tallied a season high 110 in 2010. As a senior, Hinds was asked to lead the defense for first-year Head Coach Carl Pelini while learning his third defensive system in four seasons.

The opportunity to make the Miami Dolphins will place him among current FAU players working hard in the office season to return to their respective NFL teams: Rusty Smith (QB) Tennessee Titans, Rob Housler (TE) Arizona Cardinals, Lestar Jean (WR) Houston Texans, Alfred Morris (RB) Washington Redskins.
