BOCA RATON, FL - Members of the Florida Atlantic University football team read to students at Pine Jog Elementary School in West Palm Beach as part of the 2nd & 7 literacy program.

Mike Marsaille, Shalom Ogbonda, Damian Fortner, and Travis Jones read to four separate classes. Each reading was followed by a discussion stressing the importance of reading, academic achievement, making good decisions, staying off drugs, how to resist peer pressure and concluded with an autograph session. Each student received a free book at the end of the day to use for reading practice.

Books were donated the 2nd and 7 Foundation, an organization started by former Ohio State University football players Mike Vrabel, Luke Fickell and Ryan Miller. The purpose of the foundation is to promote literacy and provide positive role models to young children. FAU is one of seven schools that participate in the program nationwide.
